30. Something That Made Me Smile This Year

I didn't take a photo today, thinking that it was better to reflect on those I had already taken, and I had a hard time.  Not because I don't have much to choose from, but because I have almost too much!  I am so blessed.  I ultimately decided on this one:

This summer my beautiful cousin married her long-time partner.  Us girls - my sisters and my cousin and her partner and I - all had dinner tonight, so they are on my mind.  My grandmother (center) has been in the hospital for the last week with a head injury, so obviously she is on my mind as well.  This photo is perfect for this prompt since it represents a day of love and of family.

Tonight over 200 people - students, parents, teachers, and community members - came together to remember a wonderful 16-year-old young man who lost his life in a car accident this weekend.  It was awesome to see the love and support this community has for the family and the lives the young man touched.  He will truly be missed.
